We’re more than music… we make a difference!
become a trustee
become a trustee
Ever thought of putting your professional knowledge and experience to use as a charity Trustee? We are looking for someone with a finance background to support Music24 by joining our Board of Trustees. You don’t have to be a musician but you do need to want to help make a difference to the lives of people within your community and it would help if you are based in either Hertfordshire or Bedfordshire.
Music24 is a friendly, community charity specialising in delivering therapeutic, music making opportunities to vulnerable adults. Working at the very heart of our charity, our Board of Trustees are like-minded people, who want to make a difference to the lives of others. Supporting the charity's innovative work, they help to ensure we reach our goals and are running as efficiently as possible. They are always more than welcome to get involved in other ways too!
Kevin Allchorne, Music24 Trustee
Kevin Allchorne is a semi-retired non-executive director in the Insurance sector and first got involved as a hands-on community musician by volunteering his time at our Stevenage Dementia Group and Welwyn Garden City Singing Café.
“Becoming a Music24 Trustee has been so rewarding. I have witnessed first-hand how the charity enriches the lives of others through music. Music24’s ethos surrounding community, compassion, inclusivity and equality reflect my own values and I wanted to offer the charity positive commitment and help to make a difference.”
Kevin realised that his professional experience could really benefit the future of Music24 and he joined the Board of Trustees in since April 2024.
“It doesn’t take up too much of my time and I feel I am able to provide invaluable support to the CEO, Senior Management Team and the rest of the Board. We have bi-monthly Board Meetings either online or in-person and subsequent actions to address. Collectively, the Board review documents for approval such as the Accounts, Terms of Reference and offer insight and guidance with these where we can. I still get time to volunteer at the groups, as well as continuing with my professional commitments and enjoying life at home. I am very glad to have found Music24 and will continue to support them in any way possible.”
